Byton M-Byte SUV: New Interior With 49-inch Touch Screen Will Be Everyone's Dream Car

CES (Consumer Electronic Show) is only a few days away, Byton is ready to show us the latest version with a new interior concept that is more ready to be produced. The start-up, partly made from former Nissan executives, BMW and Tesla, revealed a heavy SUV called M-Byte at the 2018 CES event - and this new teaser revealed the evolution of the car's interior sci-fi.

So what is different from Byton M-Byte?

Last year's car has a feature that features a 49-inch touch screen that is friendly to the living room, and the better news is that it's still at the CES 2019 event. In fact there are many cabin-like interior teasers we saw last year. Even though there is a slight change, you can still see the old interior below, and the new interior above.

As for the Steering Wheel, the driver is still displaying a large screen and tablet style, although now there is space below that is useful for accommodating airbags and other electronic items. Moreover, this driver tablet is also flanked by buttons this time, and of course it's not a bad thing. In addition, it also offers buttons as fast shortcuts that don't require as much attention as the UI that you have seen and pushed. Elsewhere on the dashboard, there seems to be a call facing the driver, even though we can't see what it is from the teaser image provided. Smart sensor, maybe?

Byton M-Byte Concept: what is that?

On the surface, the concept of Byton is indeed quite modest. Why not? the headlights look like a strange nest of LED strings, besides, Byton looks very close to the production car. For us, this looks like a Range Rover with a bit of BMW vanity, and the practicality of a very good SUV.

Byton M-Byte Concept: performance and specifications

Until now we don't know the performance specifications of the Byton Concept, but on BBC News it said it would be from 0-60mph in about 5 seconds. That makes it a little slower than Model X.

Byton M-Byte Concept: Interior

Enter the old Byton Concept, then you will be greeted with a vast infotainment screen. At 49 inches, it must be the biggest display we've seen in a car so far, and it shrinks the 17-inch screen that you will find on the Tesla Model X and Model S.
Byton also calls this mega-screen an Experience Sharing 'which means it's very big and everyone in the car can see it. The infotainment screen is getting bigger and bigger, but the Byton arrangement looks like something you see in a Level 5 autonomous car, where driving and operating a car are additional passenger entertainment.

As you would expect, this concept is also great in speech recognition, touch control, and hand movements - but Byton says there will also be a persistent physical button. Most interestingly, this new electric SUV has also been equipped with face recognition to recognize the driver and passengers, so that it can reduce the occurrence of sloth. Byton said this meant the door could be opened at a glance, but maybe the driver's profile could also be saved and then loaded, too - depending on who was behind the wheel.
